Exclusive to Clock Shop, this solid timber station clock is a great example of high quality traditional German wall clock from AMS - Andreas Mayer & Sons. The clock chimes the Westminster chime, also known as the "Big Ben" chime or the "Westminster Quarters". The number of chime sets matches the number of quarter hours that have passed so at a quarter past the hour you hear a quarter of the full chime, at half past half the chime and so on. On the hour you hear the full chime followed by a strike for the number of hours. So at 2 o'clock for example, you will hear the full chime followed by 2 strikes. 

The heavy solid timber door with visual glass for dial is a strong feature and well known for this style of clock. This is a mechanical clock and requires winding every week, simply by inserting a key into the holes in the dial and winding the springs until they are tight again. The chime, played on chime rods, is a soft and warm melody and remembered by many as a childhood sound.

Manual night-time shut-off is enabled by lifting and pulling a lever. Built by skilled craftsmen and featuring a high quality German movement this clock is 52cm from top to bottom. For further specifications please scroll down the page and click to expand.
