CARVED 1 DAY DEER HEAD 30CM CUCKOO CLOCK BY ENGSTLER

This traditional carved 1 day Cuckoo Clock by Engstler is a certified German Black Forest cuckoo clock produced in Schwarzwald, commonly known as The Black Forest. Built by craftsmen well known for their carving skills, this clock is a great example of many high quality traditional Black Forest cuckoo clocks. The cuckoo calls the time each hour and then once at half past.

These leaf and stag head carvings are featured on many of the early cuckoo clocks and still make up one of the most popular styles of cuckoo clock carving. The ornamental leaves around the front of the clock are characteristic of the traditionally carved cuckoo clocks. The frame of leaves is often crowned with a carved bird, however this clock features the stag head, well known as a hunting style clock. Other similar models also show other animals commonly hunted such as the hare & the pheasant.

Manual night-time shut-off is enabled by lifting and pulling a lever. Hand carved and built by skilled craftsmen this clock is 30cm from top to bottom. This measurement does not include the height of the weights or pendulum. For full specifications please scroll down the page and click to expand.
