Flint is the patriarch of the family, a gnome whose spirit is as warm and steady as a glowing coal. He is the official fire-tender for the gnome village, taking great pride in his ability to start a cozy hearth with a single spark from his flint and steel. He wears a deep crimson tunic, stained with soot and smelling faintly of woodsmoke, and believes a good fire can solve most problems, from warding off a chill to cheering up a friend. Flint’s greatest joy is gathering his family around the crackling flames at dusk to share stories and toasted mushrooms.

The middle brother, Garnet, is a skilled forager who is an expert in finding all things red in the forest. He dresses in a bright, poppy-red vest and has an uncanny ability to spot the ripest wild strawberries, the most vibrant red-capped toadstools (the friendly kind), and the sweetest ruby-red berries. He is an artist at heart, using berry juice to create stunningly detailed maps of the forest on pieces of birch bark. Garnet is energetic and adventurous, always returning from his expeditions with his basket, and his cheeks, flushed red with discovery.

Robin is the youngest of the brothers, a quiet and gentle gnome known for his friendship with the local ladybugs and cardinals. He wears a soft, faded-red hat and spends his days cultivating the most beautiful red flowers in the family garden, from radiant roses to cheerful geraniums. He has a unique talent for coaxing even the shyest ladybugs to crawl onto his finger, and he often has one or two riding on his shoulder like living jewels. Robin believes the colour red represents the heart of the garden and he tends to it with loving care.
