Measuring 50cm in height*, this beautiful hand-carved clock features a deer head carving crowning a traditional hunting scene, with two rifles hanging just below. Additional details include a rabbit and a bird on either side of the wooden clock dial, a scene that is depicted before the hunt has started. Additional details to complete the hunting scene include a powder bag at the base of the clock as well as a horn that surrounds the dial. Beautiful oak foliage also adorns the clock, whilst a timber pendulum hangs below the clock itself, alongside the weights, rounding out this fantastic hunting scene. Perhaps the most fascinating feature of this clock is that the 'Before The Hunt' and 'After The Hunt' cuckoo clock designs represent a very famous and traditional element for cuckoo clock designs, making up one of the most popular styles of cuckoo clock carvings today.
