This Turntable & Threaded Shaft Kit is designed for use with 18-note wind-up musical movements. The kit includes a metal disc turntable and a threaded turn shaft, which together create a smooth, reliable rotation assembly for your music box project. Components include:
Metal Turntable
This music box metal turntable assembly is designed for use with wind up 18-note musical movements such as Sankyo and Yun Sheng to make rotating musical creations. It features a left-handed (counter-clockwise) threaded mount and rotates at approximately 4 RPM under no load. With a disc diameter of 24mm, and an overall height of 15mm, it’s ideal for driving lightweight display components or rotating figures.
The turntable includes three countersunk mounting holes for secure attachment.
Important Note: This turntable does not fit the winding key shaft located on the bottom of musical movements. This turntable must be used with the included turn shaft, which is fitted to the side of the Sankyo 18 note musical movements. Alternately, you can choose a top mount assembly here.
Sankyo Threaded Turn Shaft
The added Sankyo Threaded Turn Shaft is designed for use with full-size Sankyo and Yun Sheng 18-note musical movements, specifically to drive compatible accessories such as crank-style assemblies, orbital motion rods, and the metal disc turntable. This shaft snaps securely into the accessory opening of the movement and extends approximately 6mm when installed. It is threaded to accommodate most accessory attachments that screw directly onto the shaft.
This threaded turn shaft is to be used with the included metal turntable, and snaps into the accessory opening of full-size Sanyko 18 note musical movements. This shaft is intended for use only with accessories designed for turn shafts, and will not fit the winding key shaft. Once installed, the shaft cannot be removed.
Please Note: 18 Note Music Movement is not included, but is available to purchase here. With over 20 melodies to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice.
