This Turntable & Top Mount Rotation Assembly is designed for use with 18-note wind-up musical movements. The kit includes a metal disc turntable and a top mount rotation assembly, which together create a smooth, reliable rotation assembly for your music box project. Components include:
Metal Turntable
This music box metal turntable assembly is designed for use with wind up 18-note musical movements such as Sankyo and Yun Sheng to make rotating musical creations. It features a left-handed (counter-clockwise) threaded mount and rotates at approximately 4 RPM under no load. With a disc diameter of 24mm, and an overall height of 15mm, it’s ideal for driving lightweight display components or rotating figures.
The turntable includes three countersunk mounting holes for secure attachment.
Important Note: This turntable does not fit the winding key shaft located on the bottom of musical movements. This turntable must be used with the included top mount assembly, which is fitted to the Sankyo 18 note musical movements. Alternately, you can choose a side mount assembly here.
Sankyo Top Mount Rotation Assembly
This Top-Mount Rotation Assembly is designed for use with full-size Sankyo and Yun Sheng 18-note musical movements. It installs directly above the movement, allowing decorative elements to rotate while the movement is wound from the base using a standard winding key. The rotation shaft spins in a clockwise direction at approximately 4 RPM (no load), making it ideal for displaying lightweight rotating figures or elements.
Measuring 44mm in length and 25mm in height, with a 13mm output shaft, this assembly provides a compact and efficient way to add top motion to your music box projects.
Please Note: 18 Note Music Movement is not included, but is available to purchase here. With over 20 melodies to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice.
